Volunteering

Volunteers are essential to the Steele County Historical Society. It is our goal to make volunteering as enjoyable for you as it is valuable for us.

SCHS is fortunate to have an established volunteer program with a wide range of volunteer opportunities. We are always welcoming of new volunteers to assist with the many events, exhibits and day-to-day business.

More than 300 volunteers contribute to the work of our mission, Preserving and sharing history today for tomorrow. If you have enthusiasm, good customer service skills, enjoy history and are a lifelong learner, then volunteering at SCHS may be for you.

We seek volunteers from diverse backgrounds to help share the story of all Steele County residents. From greeting visitors and school groups to working behind the scenes on records or scanning photos, every volunteer brings meaning to the work that they do.

Volunteering is an excellent way to discover new talents, make new friendships and contribute to your community.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator.
