For 2020, the Steele County Historical Society will hold the 6th Annual Gus’ Station fundraising event, but with the Covid-19 restrictions in place, it will be a car cruise traversing approx. 70 miles of Steele County from Owatonna to Blooming Prairie, Ellendale and Medford. A special feature of the route will include passing by nursing homes in each community so residents can appreciate the variety of cars. The event will be September 19 with registration at 8 a.m., departure at 9 a.m.at the Steele County History Center, 1700 Austin Road, Owatonna, MN.
Classic cars of all ages, new and old, domestics and imports are invited at the Steele County Historical Society, ensuring there is something for everyone to see.
A dash plaque will be given to all entries. There is a $10 per vehicle registration fee. Funds raised will go towards the designated fund to build a service bay next to Gus' Station to display the Society's antique cars and memorabilia of home-grown Owatonna Tool Company, now Bosch.
After the last pass-by of the nursing home in Medford, participants may have their noon lunch at any of their choice of restaurant drive-throughs or in-door areas if they are available at that time.
